Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) - Small Copper Prism Necklace #1
$30.00 Sold Out
This pendant contains one small sprig of red Yarrow (Achillea millefolium), dried and preserved in a prism-shaped casing of glass-like resin and topped by earthy, patina'd electroplated copper.
The genus name Achillea is derived from the Greek figure Achilles, who, according to Homer's Illiad, was taught how to use this healing herb on the fields of battle by the centaur Chiron. Yarrow, in fact, has been used utilized for it's wound-staunching properties across Eurasian cultures since antiquity. It's considered by many to be the quintessential herb of healers, and carrying or wearing this herb is said to confer protection.
This specimen has been pressed and coated with a UV resistant finish prior to being encapsulated in resin.
The pendant measures 54mm long by 33mm wide, and 20mm thick. This pendant is one of a kind and will be wrapped in tissue paper and hemp twine and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.
Please let me know at checkout if you have a necklace length preference! Otherwise I will include an 18" chain by default.
