This pendant contains one small sprig of Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), dried and preserved in a clear dome of glass-like resin and then electroformed with a ring of patina'd copper.
Wormwood, characterized by it's deeply earthy smell and velvety silver leaves, is perhaps best known as the main ingredient in the hallucinogenic alcoholic beverage "absinthe", aka "The Green Fairy". However, in larger doses, it is also known as a powerful poisonous herb.
This specimen has been pressed and coated with a UV resistant finish prior to being encapsulated in resin.
The pendant measures 43mm long by 31mm wide - or approximately 1 3/4" by 1 1/4". This pendant is one of a kind and will be hand wrapped in white tissue paper and hemp twine and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.
