This pendant contains one small sprig of Woody Nightshade (Solanum dulcamara), all collected ethically and respectfully from a local historic graveyard, from a portion of the graveyard in which all of the graves date back to the 1800's.
Bittersweet Nightshade (Solanum dulcamara), otherwise known as Woody Nightshade. As the name "Nightshade" implies this brightly colored member of the tomato family is a common poisonous herb. During the Middle Ages of Europe, the herb was thought to be a strong protection against hexes, and garlands of the plant were often hung on doorways and around the necks of livestock to protect them.
The pendants measure approximately 15mm by 42mm including the loop for the chain.
