Wood Squill (Scilla siberica) - Pressed Earrings #1
$30.00 Sold Out
These earrings contain two small specimens of Wood Squill (Scilla siberica), pressed and preserved in glass-like panes of clear resin.
Wood Squill, otherwise known as Siberian Squill, is a Russian native wildflower, blooming in the very early spring in forest clearings. It is widely naturalized due to it's use as a garden plant, prized for it's vivid blue blooms - a rarity in the botanical world.
The specimens have been pressed and coated with a UV resistant finish prior to being encapsulated in resin. The earring hooks are stainless steel.
Each earring measures 50mm by 21mm, or roughly 2" by 1". These earrings are one of a kind and will be wrapped in a manner similar to the last photo in the listing and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.
