This pendant contains one small sprig of Wild Strawberry (Fragaria virginiana), all collected ethically and respectfully from a local historic graveyard, from a portion of the graveyard in which all of the graves date back to the 1800's.
As the name implies, this plant is the wild counterpart to the cultivated Strawberry we all known and love. It forms sparse mats of low growing creeping plants and, in the height of spring, produces a medley of humble white flowers which will eventually give way to tiny strawberries, perfectly edible, though much smaller, and a bit more tart, than their domestic counterpart.
The pendants measure approximately 15mm by 42mm including the loop for the chain.
