Wild Strawberry (Fragaria virginiana) - Copper Plated Necklace #7

$34.00 Sold Out

This pendant contains one small sprig of Wild Strawberry (Fragaria virginiana), dried and preserved in a clear dome of glass-like resin and then electroformed with a ring of patina'd copper.

As the name implies, this plant is the wild counterpart to the cultivated Strawberry we all known and love. It forms sparse mats of low growing creeping plants and, in the height of spring, produces a medley of humble white flowers which will eventually give way to tiny strawberries, perfectly edible, though much smaller, and a bit more tart, than their domestic counterpart.

This specimen has been pressed and coated with a UV resistant finish prior to being encapsulated in resin.

The pendant measures 43mm long by 31mm wide - or approximately 1 3/4" by 1 1/4". This pendant is one of a kind and will be hand wrapped in white tissue paper and hemp twine and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.

Please let me know at checkout if you have a necklace length preference! Otherwise I will include an 18" chain by default.
