Violet (Viola sororia) - Pendulum #2

$25.00 Sold Out

This pendulum contains one small sprig of Violet (Viola sororia), dried and preserved permanently in a glass-like point of resin.

An incredibly iconic staple of spring in the US and the native range of this flower, the common lawn flower is considered to be a symbol of sapphic love; based on a poem by the Greek poet Sappho, who described herself and her lover as wearing garlands of the flower, it became a common practice especially among lesbian and bisexual women in the early 1900's to exchange the flowers with their lovers as a romantic gesture.

The pendulum measures approximately 1 1/4" (31mm) long by 1" (24mm) wide and comes on a 6" (152mm) chain. It will come with a tiny card stamped and typed by hand on an old typewriter stating the species embedded inside and will come wrapped in a manner similar to the last photo in this listing.

Note that this is not meant to be worn as it does not come on a chain long enough to be worn. This is a pendulum, a basic divination tool in a wide variety of occult practices. If you would like this piece instead on a wearable chain, please include a note stating so in the "note to seller" section of your purchase.
