Violet (Viola sororia) - Conical Pendant #1
$25.00 Sold Out
This pendant contains one small specimen of Violet (Viola sororia), dried thoroughly and preserved in a clear thin cone of glass-like resin.
An incredibly iconic staple of spring in the US and the native range of this flower, the common lawn flower is considered to be a symbol of sapphic love; based on a poem by the Greek poet Sappho, who described herself and her lover as wearing garlands of the flower, it became a common practice especially among lesbian and bisexual women in the early 1900's to exchange the flowers with their lovers as a romantic gesture.
The pendants measure approximately 3" (68mm) long by 1/2" (13mm) wide with stainless steel bail and chain.
Please let me know at checkout if you have a necklace length preference! Otherwise I will include an 18" chain by default.
