This pendant contains one small sprig of Valerian (Valeriana officinalis), dried and preserved in a clear dome of glass-like resin and then electroformed with a ring of patina'd copper.
Valerian is a dreamy, sweet smelling summer herb, traditionally used both as component of perfume for it's sweet, floral scent, as well as a powerful sleep aid in traditional western herbalism. The herb has been dried thoroughly and preserved in a pane of crystal clear resin.
This specimen has been pressed and coated with a UV resistant finish prior to being encapsulated in resin.
The pendant measures 43mm long by 31mm wide - or approximately 1 3/4" by 1 1/4". This pendant is one of a kind and will be hand wrapped in white tissue paper and hemp twine and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.
