Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) - Prism Necklace #1
This pendant contains one small sprig of Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), dried and preserved in a small triangular prism shaped necklace.
Needing no introduction, the globally recognized tomato, technically a type of nightshade, is thought to have been first cultivated by the indigenous peoples of Mexico, and was brought to Europe after the Spanish invasion and occupation of the Americas. Today it's fruit is one of the most widely recognized and consumed vegetables in the world.
The specimen has been pressed dry and coated with a UV resistant finish before being embedded in resin for maximum protection against damage.
The pendant measures about 28mm by 31mm (1 1/8" by 1 1/4") and approximately 20mm deep.
Please let me know at checkout if you have a necklace length preference! Otherwise I will include an 18" chain by default.
