Sweet Alyssum (Lobularia maritima) - Copper Plated Necklace #2
$34.00
This pendant contains one small sprig of Sweet Alyssum (Lobularia maritima), dried and preserved in a clear dome of glass-like resin and then electroformed with a ring of patina'd copper.
Sweet Alyssum - from the Greek word alyssum, meaning “without madness” - was once believed to have the capacity to cure rabidness and soothe feral animals, owing to it’s association with gentleness and calmness of spirit. In occult contexts it is said to ward off glamours and hexes, and in the language of flowers, the flower represents “worth beyond beauty”.
This specimen has been pressed and coated with a UV resistant finish prior to being encapsulated in resin.
The pendant measures 43mm long by 31mm wide - or approximately 1 3/4" by 1 1/4". This pendant is one of a kind and will be hand wrapped in white tissue paper and hemp twine and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.
Please let me know at checkout if you have a necklace length preference! Otherwise I will include an 18" chain by default.
