This pendant contains one small sprig of Red Clover (Trifolium pratense), dried and preserved permanently in a glass-like point of resin, topped with a layer of earthy electroplated copper with copper bail and chain.
This wildly iconic, beautiful purple clover is a staple of summer meadows throughout it's range. It's flowers contain a compound that chemically resembles estrogen, and has been used as a traditional folk medicine for this purpose for centuries. For this reason, it is sometimes considered a uniquely feminine plant ally.
The specimen has been dried thoroughly and coated in a UV resistant finish prior to being embedded in epoxy resin. The piece measures approximately 3 1/2" inches long including bail holding the chain, by about 5/8" wide.
This pendant is one of a kind and will be wrapped in a manner similar to the last photo in the listing and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.
