Peppermint (Mentha x piperita) - Floral Night-Light #1

$40.00 Sold Out

This hand-made desk light contains one preserved specimen of Peppermint (Mentha x piperita), preserved in a solid obelisk-shaped prism of resin, underlit by a bright LED light, and mounted into a base made of 3d printed wood pulp, hand stained with wood stain oil, and plugs in via a USB 2.0 plug in the back of the base. The effect is a dazzling watery prism effect that casts across gently across a dark room, occasionally reflecting the colors of the plant inside.

Peppermint, a hybrid between Spearmint and Water Mint first described by Linnaeus in 1753, is a mint species whose menthol rich leaves are responsible for the many peppermint flavored food, drink and confections we enjoy, from tea to ice cream to candy canes. Additionally, peppermint oil and extracts have been used in western medicinal herbalism for centuries.

The light measures approximately 4.5" tall and 1.75" wide at the base, or about 114mm tall by 44mm wide. It is powered via a 3 foot long USB cord 2.0 cord in the back of the base.

The specimen has been dried thoroughly and coated in a UV resistant finish prior to being embedded in epoxy resin. The cap and findings are made of sturdy stainless steel.

The package will be carefully hand wrapped in bubble wrap, then wrapped with tissue paper and twine.
