Honeywort (Cerinthe major) - Floral Night-Light #2

$40.00 Sold Out

This hand-made desk light contains one preserved specimen of Honeywort (Cerinthe major), preserved in a solid obelisk-shaped prism of resin, underlit by a bright LED light, and mounted into a base made of 3d printed wood pulp, hand stained with wood stain oil, and plugs in via a USB 2.0 plug in the back of the base. The effect is a dazzling watery prism effect that casts across gently across a dark room, occasionally reflecting the colors of the plant inside.

A cute Mediterranean species, Honeywort is distinctive for it's broad and plentiful foliage slowly progressing to a cluster of deep purple bracts. It is a favorite of bees. This particular specimen was grown by seed in my garden.

The light measures approximately 4.5" tall and 1.75" wide at the base, or about 114mm tall by 44mm wide. It is powered via a 3 foot long USB cord 2.0 cord in the back of the base.

The specimen has been dried thoroughly and coated in a UV resistant finish prior to being embedded in epoxy resin. The cap and findings are made of sturdy stainless steel.

The package will be carefully hand wrapped in bubble wrap, then wrapped with tissue paper and twine.

PLEASE NOTE: This piece has a small flaw on the edge where an air bubble was repaired. The light is otherwise completely functional! I decided to sell the piece despite the flaw because Lilac is a popular flower and this was a particularly nice specimen.
