Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) - Floral Prism Desk Light #2
$40.00 Sold Out
This hand-made desk light contains one preserved specimen of Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium), preserved in a solid obelisk-shaped prism of resin, underlit by a bright LED light, and mounted into a base made of 3d printed wood pulp, hand stained with wood stain oil, and plugs in via a USB 2.0 plug in the back of the base. The effect is a dazzling watery prism effect that casts across gently across a dark room, occasionally reflecting the colors of the plant inside.
Feverfew is so named due to it's traditional use as an herbal medicine to treat headaches. A native of Europe, this small, daisy-like herb is even now being researched for it's healing properties, with some research being done on the herb's chemical constituent's efficacy in fighting cancer.
The light measures approximately 102mm tall from tip to base and about 43mm wide at the base (4" by 1 11/16"). It is powered by two replaceable #CR2032 batteries and can be powered on and off via a twisting switch under the base. For your convenience, your order will include a replacement set of batteries.
The specimen has been dried thoroughly and coated in a UV resistant finish prior to being embedded in epoxy resin. The cap and findings are made of sturdy stainless steel.
The package will be carefully hand wrapped in bubble wrap, then wrapped with tissue paper and twine.
