This large, statement piece pendant contains one frond and fiddlehead of Christmas Fern (Polystichum acrostichoides), dried and preserved in a prism of clear, glass-like resin.
Christmas Ferns are an evergreen species of fern, so named for their traditional use in Yule-time wreaths.
The specimen has been dried thoroughly and coated in a UV resistant finish prior to being embedded in epoxy resin. The cap and findings are made of sturdy stainless steel.
This pendant is one of a kind and will be wrapped in a manner similar to the last photo in the listing and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.
