This pendant contains one small specimen of Christmas Fern Fiddlehead (Polystichum acrostichoides), dried thoroughly and preserved in a clear thin cone of glass-like resin.
Most fern fronds unfurl in the early spring into this elaborate spiral shape known as a fiddlehead, a folk term for the structure's resemblance to the head of a violin.
The pendant measures approximately 65mm long by 15mm wide, with stainless steel bail and chain.
