Christmas Fern Fiddlehead (Polystichum acrostichoides) - Copper Plated Necklace #2

$34.00 Sold Out

This pendant contains one small immature frond of Christmas Fern (Polystichum acrostichoides), dried and preserved in a clear dome of glass-like resin and then electroformed with a ring of patina'd copper.

Most fern fronds unfurl in the early spring into this elaborate spiral shape known as a fiddlehead, a folk term for the structure's resemblance to the head of a violin.

This specimen has been pressed and coated with a UV resistant finish prior to being encapsulated in resin.

The pendant measures 43mm long by 31mm wide - or approximately 1 3/4" by 1 1/4". This pendant is one of a kind and will be hand wrapped in white tissue paper and hemp twine and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.

Please let me know at checkout if you have a necklace length preference! Otherwise I will include an 18" chain by default.
