Chokecherry (Prunus virginiana) - Small Copper Prism Necklace #1
$30.00 Sold Out
This pendant contains one small sprig of Chokecherry (Prunus virginiana), dried and preserved in a prism-shaped casing of glass-like resin and topped by earthy, patina'd electroplated copper.
Chokecherry, also called Bird Cherry, is a variety of cherry native to the northeast United States. It produces a stalk of white flowers in the spring and a vivid spike of red berries in the autumn. The cherries themselves are bitter, but can be dried or made into jam to make them more palatable, making them a valuable source of wild food.
This specimen has been pressed and coated with a UV resistant finish prior to being encapsulated in resin.
The pendant measures 54mm long by 33mm wide, and 20mm thick. This pendant is one of a kind and will be wrapped in tissue paper and hemp twine and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.
Please let me know at checkout if you have a necklace length preference! Otherwise I will include an 18" chain by default.
