Buttercup (Ranunculus acris) - Large Copper Dipped Pendant

$28.00 Sold Out

This pendant contains one small sprig of Buttercup (Ranunculus acris), dried and preserved permanently in a glass-like point of resin, topped with a layer of earthy electroplated copper with copper bail and chain.

An iconic species of meadows and gardens across the globe, one of the more common Buttercups in Europe and North America, Ranunculus acris owes it's name, like all Buttercups, to it's intensely colored, shimmery yellow flowers. This is due to a special characteristic of Ranunculus flowers, the reflective surface of their petals, giving the flowers an iridescent appearance that is very distinct to the genus.

The specimen has been dried thoroughly and coated in a UV resistant finish prior to being embedded in epoxy resin. The piece measures approximately 3 1/2" inches long including bail holding the chain, by about 5/8" wide.

This pendant is one of a kind and will be wrapped in a manner similar to the last photo in the listing and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.

Please let me know at checkout if you have a necklace length preference! Otherwise I will include an 18" chain by default.
