Buttercup (Ranunculus acris) - Chunky Statement Piece #1
$35.00 Sold Out
This large, chunky statement piece pendant contains one sprig of Buttercup (Ranunculus acris), dried and preserved in a prism of clear, glass-like resin.
A native of North America, the iconic Black-Eyed Susan, with it's distinctive sunflower-like visage and striking black center, is a popular addition to summer gardens, partially for it's propensity for attracting butterflies. It is closely related to the medicinal plant Echinacea and is still used for the same purpose, to treat colds and fevers. Notably, Black-Eyed Susan is also the state flower in Maryland, and is highly celebrated in that state.
The specimen has been dried thoroughly and coated in a UV resistant finish prior to being embedded in epoxy resin. The cap and findings are made of sturdy stainless steel.
This pendant is one of a kind and will be wrapped in a manner similar to the last photo in the listing and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.
Please let me know at checkout if you have a necklace length preference! Otherwise I will include an 18" chain by default.
