Bittersweet Nightshade (Solanum dulcamara) - Pendulum #1
This pendant contains one small sprig of Bittersweet Nightshade (Solanum dulcamara), otherwise known as Woody Nightshade. As the name "Nightshade" implies this brightly colored member of the tomato family is a common poisonous herb. During the Middle Ages of Europe, the herb was thought to be a strong protection against hexes, and garlands of the plant were often hung on doorways and around the necks of livestock to protect them.
This specimen has been pressed and coated with a UV resistant finish prior to being encapsulated in resin.
This is a small pendant and measures approximately 3.5cm by 2.5cm, and includes your choice of length of stainless steel chain, and a hand-stamped tag complete with a hand-made, authentic herbarium label typed on 100% recycled card stock.
