Calendula (Calendula officinalis) - Large #1
This pendant contains one small specimen of common Calendula (Calendula officinalis), pressed and preserved in a pane of glass-like resin.
A native of Southwest Asia and the Mediterranean, Calendula has been used and cultivated for years for it's medicinal properties. It is a sacred herb in several faiths, used to decorate the statues of Hindu deities, used as garlands in early Greek and Roman rituals, and supposedly used in some Catholic ceremonies in several European countries.
This specimen was grown by me, organically and from seed, in my own garden.
This specimen has been pressed and coated with a UV resistant finish prior to being encapsulated in resin.
The pendant measures 62mm by 45mm at it's widest points. This pendant is one of a kind and will be wrapped in a manner similar to the last photo in the listing and come with a small tag stating the name of the species, stamped by hand and typed on a vintage typewriter.
Please let me know at checkout if you have a necklace length preference! Otherwise I will include an 18" chain by default.
